Soccer

YSC Travel Soccer is a competitive club soccer program that values skill development, sportsmanship and teamwork above winning. Weekly league play is organized through the Northern New England Soccer League. 

  • Ages

    The York Soccer Club (YSC) Travel Soccer Program is for players over eight.  If your child is younger and you feel he or she is ready for a more competitive experience than our Early Development Program provides, please contact a YSC Board member at Board@yorksoccerclub.com to discuss options.

  • Practice and Game Schedules

    Once travel teams are formed, coaches will contact families with their team rosters as well as practice and game schedules.  Practices will occur two times during the week and our NHSL scheduled games are on the weekends.  We will be competing against Southern Maine and Seacoast New Hampshire teams.

    What gear do I need to provide for my player?
    Each player should have a water bottle, shin guards, soccer socks and soccer cleats (baseball style spiked cleats are prohibited). 

    How are teams formed?
    Travel teams are created based on birth year to align with league protocol.

2026 Fall Schedule

Early Development Program

The York Soccer Club’s Early Development Program (EDP) introduces boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 8 living in York to the game of soccer. Participants are typically in grades K-2.  The focus is on having fun and early skill development.  Sessions will be an hour long and include skills, drills, and fun games.  Each team is led by a volunteer coach (parent of the athlete, we need more volunteers!), with guidance from York Soccer Club coaches and assistance from York High School soccer players (when available).

Schedule: Saturday mornings between September and October.  There will be no EDP during Columbus Day weekend.  Depending on total participants, Girls Sessions will run first and Boys Sessions will follow.  If only one session needed, we will start at 8:30.

Location:  Village Elementary School

Cost:  $75.00 per child

What kids need

Players should:

  • Be dressed for the weather (EDP is outdoors).

  • Wear soccer shin-guards.

  • Wear sneakers or soccer cleats (cleats are helpful, but not required).

  • Water bottles (sharing water will not be permitted).

What kids will get:

  • A York Soccer Club jersey.
